2nd Indoor Meet Goes to Sophomore Class!

Our second indoor meet of the year proved a nice preview of what's to come. The sophomore class represented! Kudos to Connor Patterson and Cody Moore for their performances in the 55 meter sprints and long jump events where they did very well for the team. Cody and Anthony Griffith also earned points in pole vault. Andrew Thomis earned his first points in the 55 meter hurdles. Another sophomore! With a little help from freshman sprinter Takeshi Horie the team managed a very respectable 8th out 22 teams. This week runners arrived with more focus and we needed it with the upperclassmen taking the ACT.

Continue to log mileage and enjoy the great weather we have this week. Keep positive and encourage each other. Although most compete individually, track success is a team achievement. Welcome new athletes to the team, we have a few new faces. In fact, as of this week we have 74 high school runners, not the 100 runners coach Echeverria aimed for, but a great representation of students.

A few more track guys will join the team now that swimming, wrestling, and basketball are almost in post-season. We wish those teams the best of luck. With the football players joining us our team is almost complete.

Remember to tell coach Echeverria by Wednesday Feb 15th if you want to compete in the last indoor meet of the year this February 18th.
