Meet the Coaching Staff

Updated Coaching Staff

Below is a little bio for each coach. Read and come out to meet this year's coaching staff.




Edmundo Echeverria
Head Coach
USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coach
Coach Echeverria returns for his tenth year with the track team, first as head coach. Coach Echeverria also coaches the pole vaulters at Thomas More College. He is one of the founding coaches of the BCK Thoroughbreds Track Club, a summer AAU/USATF club. In the fall he works with the boys soccer team (2013-present). He was the head girls soccer coach for five years at Ryle and coached boys soccer at Lakewood Ranch High School in Florida prior to his career move to Union, Ky. He teaches English at Ryle and enjoys jogging and writing in his spare time.



Shawn Proffitt
Varsity Assistant
USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coach
Coach Proffitt brings years of coaching experience to the Raiders. He coached several state champions at Apopka High School in Florida, a national champion at the AAU Junior Olympic Games, and competed at the highest level as a collegiate runner for the University of Virginia. In the fall Coach Proffitt worked with the XC team at Covington Catholic High School. He is a founding co-founder of the BCK Thoroughbreds Track Club.




Charity Ehrenberg
Middle School/Pole Vault
Coach Ehrenberg returns for her second season. Last year, under her leadership the Ryle Middle School Boys team won the Regional Middle School Championship. She coached varsity girls soccer at Conner and was girls head track coach at Scott High School prior to changing her teaching career to Ryle's English Department. Coach Ehrenberg coached in Ohio (2003-soccer, 2009-track). She works with all athletes and assists with the pole vaulters.




Larry Shoop
Hurdles Coach (MS/HS)
Coach Shoop returns for his 7th season with the track team. He's developed many hurdlers during his tenure including last year's state champion Matt Froshauer, currently running at the University of South Carolina. Coach Shoop is a retired track and field coach and football coach in Illinois.




Nick Wilson
Throwers (MS/HS)
Coach Wilson returns for his second season. Nick threw shot and discuss for Campbell County High School. He helps both the boys and girls throwers and enjoys mentoring the athletes.




Austin Johnson
Sprinters (MS/HS)
Coach Johnson returns to coaching after a short break. Austin sprinted for Berea College 2010-2014 and placed third All-Conference in the 200 meter dash. His love for the sport did not end when he graduated. Last year he competed unattached in several indoor meets. Now he wants to share his love for track and field.
