Welcome to Ryle Track!
The girls and boys program are combined and running well. Coach Echeverria will lead the talented staff as head coach for both Men's and Women's track and lead coach for sprint training . Athletes are in capable hands with Kathleen Swinehart, Steve Fong, Lyndsey Halik and Steve Swinehart returning from last year's staff. Their knowledge and consistency will ensure continuity from the past success. We welcome Shawn Proffitt back to our team. He rejoins the staff this year as the associate head coach for the Women's team and lead coach for endurance training.
Training and Meets
Speak to your sons and daughters and they will tell you that we work hard but we also explain a lot. The staff promises only two things: that we'll have fun and that we'll all get better. Our commitment for well-designed and science based training means that we will push athletes and then provide opportunities to compete. We've added more meets for the younger and newer members on the squad. We ask that you help us by encouraging your athlete to attend practice and then to make the most of the meets. Athletes only have to arrive an hour before their events and they can leave as soon as they cool down and chat with a coach. Encourage them to stay for as many events as possible though, to cheer for their teammates and to step into an event when the opportunity presents itself. Meets are more about learning and growing than about getting a medal. The more we compete the more we learn about ourselves.
This week we start the learning. We ask that athletes and families use the website, twitter account, and practice to get as much information as possible. Any questions you may have you may also reach out to the coaching staff.
Spirit wear
Please use the link (Spirit Wear order) to purchase the Ryle Track wear. Some parents asked about women's sizes. Our vendor ordered unisex wear and assured us that the boys and girls will be happy with their orders. We ask that new athletes order a package with all the recommended items. Any athlete who cannot afford the spirit wear may speak to a coach and we'll find assistance
